Classroom Behavior Expectations
Classroom Standards:
1.) Be Safe 2.) Be Responsible 3.) Re Respectful
Class Dojo:
Each student will be assigned their own "monster avatar" on our class' personal Class Dojo website. They can earn positive points for persistence, helping others, teamwork, working hard, being on task, and in-class participation. They can also lose points for being off task, talking out of turn, being unprepared, or being disrespectful. All students start each day with a "clean slate." Loss of Dojo points will result in appropriate consequences for that day. However, if students do lose points/receive negative points, they can still earn positive points throughout the day, and they will begin the next day with a "clean slate." Both positive and negative points will be calculated into students' personalized weekly report.
Weekly reports will give parents and families the opportunity to see how their student is succeeding behaviorally in class. Students and their families can also log into their Dojo account from home to check their daily progress, see posts from the teacher on the Class Story page, and also personally message the teacher for any questions or comments! This is private and will not send to other parents or families in our class.
To access our class' Dojo page use your child's personalized code. This will be sent home at the beginning of the year.
Consequences for Loss of Dojo Points:
3 Point Loss in one day - Teacher's Choice (seat move, time out, or loss of recess)
6 Point Loss in one day - Parent Contact (either I or your student will contact you by phone, email, or a note, by the end of the day)
9 Point Loss in one day - visit to Principal

Brag Tags:
Brag Tags are incentive tags that your child can earn for positive behavior and choices that he/she makes during the school day. The tags that they earn are worn on a necklace that is kept at school, and brought home at the end of the school year. They are not meant to be brought home during the school year, but can be looked at when you come to visit school, and during Parent-Teacher conferences.
Students can earn Brag Tags when the teacher notices a choice or behavior that is done by a student that exceeds expectations. They can be earned for many things such as: 100% on a test, Helping Others, Good Listening, Being Helpful, Good for the Sub, etc. I strongly believe in positive reinforcement in my classroom and this is one method that we will use this year to encourage the positive choices and hard work.
Rewards:
There are rewards for making positive choices.
They are:
1. Self-satisfaction in knowing they have done a good job
2. Brag Tags
3. Positive note home
